Dry Ingredients:

2 cups hazelnut meal flour

1 cup sweet rice flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Wet Ingredients:

1 cup coconut sugar

1/2 cup softened organic butter

1/4 cup blackstrap molasses

1 large organic egg

Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. In a separate, smaller bowl, beat with an electric mixer (or vigorously whisk) together the wet ingredients. Add the wet to the dry and mix together. Form into a ball, cover, and place into the refrigerator for a couple of hours or overnight.

When the dough is firm and chilled, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place a large piece of parchment or waxed paper down onto a clean, flat work surface. Lightly flour the paper with sweet rice flour. Take part of the dough and roll it out to a little less than 1/4 inch of thickness. Put the remaining dough back in the fridge to keep it chilled. Cut the dough out using your favorite holiday cookie cutters. Carefully peel away the dough around the cut-outs. Then take a thin spatula and lift the cookies onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes depending on how crisp you like them. A few more minutes of baking makes them crispy. Just watch them so they don't overcook. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Then repeat with remaining dough. Let cook completely before frosting.

With the weather turning colder I'm suddenly getting excited about the approaching holidays. Maybe because today we took our Christmas card picture. It jump-started my dreamy thoughts of cozy times snuggling indoors, hot cocoa, Christmas music, making gingerbread houses, baking, and spending quality time with the ones I love.

All of this led me to start thinking about special gifts I want to give. It's always difficult to find that special something with a personal touch. Today I decided to buy an adorable piece of art for my only girl niece at the Willow Of Wonder Etsy shop. It happens to be owned by our very talented and dear friend Jackie. She has beautiful prints and stationary sets that you can buy online, and they arrive adorably wrapped and ready for gift giving. I am madly in love with all of her prints and if I had more room I'd have every one of them framed in my home. Each print is drawn by Jackie, and has scripture added to them all. On her site she writes about how she's been inspired to create each of them. I just adore these and know you will too!

She has generously offered to do a giveaway for Nurtured Path followers!!!! You now have a chance to win your choice of scripture art. Please see giveaway rules below. Can't wait to see who wins! We are rootin' for you!! Please feel free to forward this onto anyone you know who would like to join the giveaway. Come one, come all!!!

Check out her blog and take a look around at Willow of Wonder. Jackie is having a sale on all prints: 2 for $35 or 4 for $65. Also, 10% of all sales go to www.zoechildren.org to help stop human trafficking.
